ZOMBIE DODGEBALL

FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUES:

PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ object manipulation/ awareness of space available/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time/ opposition movements or actions in duelling activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Touch people with the ball from a behind throw
-DEFENSE: Avoid being hit by a ball
FORMATION: Determine the playing area with lines or cones and everyone is playing in this field. Start the game with a minimum of 4 balls thrown in the field at the beginning of the game. A few hoops are placed in the playing area as well and players can’t go in them. They will be use for zombie later in the game.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal of the game is to survive as long as you can and by respecting all the rules of the game.
-Only behind throw are accepted to shoot at other players
-You die when: you are hit by the ball, you drop the ball, you move with the ball, you are touched by a zombie, hit someone in the face with the ball
-When you die, you become a zombie and move as a zombie. Try to touch players
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space. Learn the different rules and the zombie walk
-LAYER 2: Experience back throw as you are moving in the space
-LAYER 3: First rule, become a zombie if hit by the ball
-LAYER 4: Second rule, become a zombie if touch by one zombie as well
-LAYER 5: All rules together
-LAYER 6: Zombie can now catch the ball and get back in play as they catch one ball
MODIFICATIONS:
-New way to revive for zombie
-kick the ball instead of behind throw
SAFETY:
-Shooting in the lower body part only
-Students must keep their head to avoid collision
