PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ object manipulation
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Eliminate the players by touching them with the ball
-DEFENSE: Avoid being touched by the taggers and run in the available space
FORMATION: 6 to 8 players on a badminton court depending on the numbers of player in the class. Two players are wearing penny to identify them as taggers. Everyone is disperse in the playing area.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-Each player has a penny around their hip that is unused until they are touched by the taggers.
-Players are moving in the determined area and avoid the taggers.
-The taggers can’t move when they have the ball and can only perform a pass or touch an opponent
-The goal of the game is to touch every player on the field. Once a player is touched, he becomes a tagger and put his penny on to difference himself from alive players.
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space
-LAYER 2: 2 taggers for 1 badminton court
-LAYER 3: Allow the taggers to perform a pivot as in basketball to touch their opponents
-LAYER 4: Mix 3 badminton court together
-LAYER 5: Taggers can now move 2-3 steps forward when they have the ball
MODIFICATIONS:
-Change the size of the playing area
-Allow taggers to throw the ball to their opponent (lower body only)
SAFETY:
-Use soft balls
-Players must keep eyes up to avoid others players
-End lines away from the walls
