PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ manipulation skills
-COMPETENCY 2: Synchronizes his/her movements or actions with partner(s)/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-Learn to do a rally
-Maintain a rally
-Send the ball so the player will need to move
-Send the object in a way that the opponent won’t be able to return it
FORMATION: Players are in teams of 2 and play against another team. All players take place on a badminton court. Only one shuttlecock is required for each field and 4 badminton racket. No hoops are place yet and the playing area is the badminton court it’s own. The net is replaced by cones that can shape the size of the net.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to send the shuttlecock to the opponents in a way they won’t return it
-Badminton rules apply for this game
-You can score 1 point by winning a normal point as in badminton or score 3 points when shooting in one of the hoops
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and learn to maintain a rally first
-LAYER 2: The players must maintain a rally with the shuttlecock
-LAYER 3: Experience different shot (far, close, left, right, lob, etc.)
-LAYER 4: Add the hoop to score point
-LAYER 5: Bring the scoring point with each field and vary the net size and rules (different possibilities)
MODIFICATIONS:
-Change the size of the playing area
-Play the game with more or less scoring technique
-Play 1 minute game and switch teams often
SAFETY:
-End lines away from walls
-Students should be aware of their environment and keep their eyes up
-Students should use safely the badminton racket
