BATTING PRACTICE

EQUIPMENT: WIFFLE BALLS, IMPLEMENTS FOR BATTER, BASEBALL TEE IF NECESSARY
FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUES:

PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ projecting objects with an implement
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time
TACTICS:
-To aim correctly and hit the ball
-Learn different type of swing and hit
FORMATION: Every student team up with another person and one will take an implement to practice batting technique and the other one will grab a few waffle balls. One person is the thrower and one person is the batter. Every team is facing a wall.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal of this game is to experience different batting technique and to learn how to rightly hit the ball with an implement
-The thrower will throw the ball in different way to the batter (at least 5 balls)
-The batter will try to hit the ball in different manner to see what the results of different hit are
-LAYER 1: Every team finds a spot in the gym and they practice hitting and throwing
-LAYER 2: Change the role of the players
-LAYER 3: Try different implement for both batter
MODIFICATIONS:
-Use different implements for the batter
-Different batting technique or different type of balls
SAFETY:
-Let enough space between each student to avoid accident
-Teach and let children learn how to manipulate the implement correctly and safely
