PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation
-COMPETENCY 2: Synchronizes his/her movements or actions with partner(s)/ opposition movements or actions in duelling activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Grab the other player’s penny
-DEFENSE: Avoid the other players and protect your penny from being grabbed
FORMATION: 4 teams of 4 different colors of penny. Everybody take a spot in the playing area and must place their penny correctly before the game can start. Set the playing area as well before the students start to move and play the game.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-Each player has a penny that they place in their short. The penny must be seen by the other players and should run straight on the side of one hip.
-Pennies must be of 4 different colors and have the same amount of students for each color.
-The goal of the game is to take people out of the play by grabbing their penny.
-Once you get caught, step out of the boundaries and put back you penny on before you can reintroduce the game.
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space
-LAYER 2: Boys vs. Boys and Girls vs. Girls
-LAYER 3: Everyone against everyone
-LAYER 4: Team vs. team (red vs. blue)
-LAYER 5: New rules: Can only be revived when a player from your team gives you back your penny
-LAYER 6: 30 seconds game with elimination for 3 minutes at all
MODIFICATIONS:
-Play the game with more or less teams
-Change players from teams so they are balanced
SAFETY:
-Students should keep eyes up when moving in the space
-No pushing when grabbing the penny to your opponent
-End lines away from the walls
