PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ manipulation skills
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time/ opposition movements or actions in duelling activities in a common space/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Make passes with your teammates to move forward and score points
-DEFENSE: Guard the other players and try to intercept the ball
FORMATION: The class is split in 6 teams of 3-4 players. Each team is taking place in a badminton court with their teammates. Teams are differentiated with different color of pennies. Cones are marking the playing area and one ball is required per field. 1 hoop is placed at the end of each field and represents the basketball backboard.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to complete passes and score a point by shooting the ball in the hoop
-Basketball rules apply for this game, so locomotor movement is allowed
-Interception can be made to turn the play or to prevent the other team from scoring a point
-If a fault is done, the ball is given to the opposite team
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and players can make some passes with their teammates
-LAYER 2: Play the game a first time to experience it
-LAYER 3: Play the game with a joker who is playing for the offensive team only
-LAYER 4: Play the game with the real basketball backboard
MODIFICATIONS:
-Add balls in the play, so defensive and offensive at the same time
-Change the movement pattern (bounce passes only)
-Shape the dimension of the field
SAFETY:
-Students should keep their eyes up and avoid collision
-End lines away from the wall
