PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ manipulation skills
-COMPETENCY 2: Synchronizes his/her movements or actions with partner(s)/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Transport 3 balls or objects to the opposite side of the field with passes
-DEFENSE: Prevent the offense to reach and score points in the basket
FORMATION: Players are in teams of 3 players. All players start behind the starting line. Colored bases are placed at different spot in the playing area. One basket contains all the balls and on is empty to receive the balls. Cones are marking the playing area.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to get 3 balls in the basket at the opposite side of the field by doing passes to your teammates.
-No locomotor movement with the ball and must touch a colored base to have the ball.
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space without any taggers so the players can understand the lines and the playing area
-LAYER 2: The players all work together to create option for passes and move forward to score a point. Repeat it 3 times.
-LAYER 3: Defenders are now picked in the class and must try to block the passes. If you are intercepted, you restart from the beginning
MODIFICATIONS:
-Change the numbers of colored bases
-Change the movement pattern
-Change the number of defenders
SAFETY:
-Appropriate way to intercept
-Students should be aware of their environment and keep their eyes up
