PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time/ opposition movements or actions in duelling activities in a common space/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Make passes to move through the opponent team’s zone and score a point with a pass in the end zone
-DEFENSE: Defend your field and block the passes. Try to intercept the ball
FORMATION: The class is split in 6 teams of 3-4 players. Each team is playing against another one on a field the same size of a badminton court. Cones are marking the playing area and the end zone as well. The 2 teams are differentiated with pennies.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to score a point by sending the ball to your teammate in the end zone
-A minimum of 5 passes must be done before the team can score a point
-Interception can be made to turn the play
-All players must stay in the playing area and no locomotion movement is allowed with the ball
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space with some passes with teammates. No defense yet is allowed
-LAYER 2: Play the game a first time to experience it
-LAYER 3: Bounce passes only
-LAYER 4: Reduce the size of the end zone or play the game with 2 small goals at the end of each side
MODIFICATIONS:
-Add balls or change their type (soccer, football, basketball, etc.)
-Change the number of passes required before scoring or add other objectives
SAFETY:
-Students should keep their eyes up and avoid collision
-Ball must be soft
-End lines away from the walls
