PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ manipulation skills
-COMPETENCY 2: Synchronizes his/her movements or actions with partner(s)/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-Learn to do a rally
-Maintain a rally
-Send the ball so the player will need to move
-Send the object in a way that the opponent won’t be able to return it
FORMATION: Players are in teams of 2 and play against another team. All players take place on a badminton court. Only one ball is required to play the game. Cones are set to mark the playing area and the middle net (size net instead of height net)
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to send the ball to the opponent’s team in a way they won’t return it
-No locomotor movement with the ball
-The ball must be thrown directly in the opponent’s field with an underhand throw
-Each player must respect the alternative order play so everyone is playing the game
-All the player must stay in the playing area
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and learn to maintain a rally first
-LAYER 2: The players must maintain a rally with the ball
-LAYER 3: Experience different shot (far, close, left, right, lob, etc.) while playing the game
-LAYER 4: Tap the ball instead of catching/ throwing it
-LAYER 5: Passes are now allowed with your teammate before shooting on the other side of the field
-LAYER 6: Bring the scoring point with each field (different possibilities) or new rules to the game
MODIFICATIONS:
-Change the size of the playing area
-Play the game with different type of ball
-Add new rules or new scoring system
SAFETY:
-End lines away from walls
-Don’t throw the ball on your opponents
-Be aware to avoid contact with your teammate
