PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ manipulation skills
-COMPETENCY 2: Synchronizes his/her movements or actions with partner(s)/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-Learn to do a rally
-Maintain a rally
-Send the ball so the player will need to move
-Send the object in a way that the opponent won’t be able to return it
FORMATION: Players are in teams of 2 and take place in half a badminton court. A few colored bases are placed in the playing area. Cones are marking the playing area. Only one tennis ball is required to play the game.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to send the tennis ball in a way your opponent won’t return it
-One bounce on the floor is allowed before catching the ball
-You can score 1 point by winning a normal point or score 3 point by sending the ball on a colored base.
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and learn to maintain a rally first
-LAYER 2: The players must maintain a rally with the tennis ball
-LAYER 3: Experience different shot (far, close, left, right, lob, etc.)
-LAYER 4: Add the colored base point system
-LAYER 5: Bring the scoring point with each field and vary the net size and rules (different possibilities) (each color give different points)
MODIFICATIONS:
-Change the size of the playing area
-Play the game with more or less scoring technique
-Play 1 minute game and switch teams often
SAFETY:
-End lines away from walls
-Students should be aware of their environment and keep their eyes up
-Students should use safely the tennis ball
