PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:
-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ balanced stances (postures) on the floor and on apparatus/ object manipulation
-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time/ opposition movements or actions in duelling activities in a common space/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space
TACTICS:
-OFFENSE: Complete 5 consecutives passes with your teammates
-DEFENSE: Prevent the offensive team from making 5 consecutives passes by intercepting the ball
FORMATION: The class is split in 6 teams of 3-4 players. Each team is taking place in a badminton court with their teammates. Teams are differentiated with different color of pennies. Cones are marking the playing area and one ball is required per field.
DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:
-The goal is to complete 5 consecutives passes with your teammates in a row without being intercepted by the other team
-Passes must be done in the field only and after 5 passes are done, a point is scored
-Interception can be made to turn the play or to prevent the other team from scoring a point
-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and players can make some passes with their teammates. All players must stay stationary (half field)
-LAYER 2: Players move around the field and make passes with their teammates (half field)
-LAYER 3: One player from the team will play warm defense role while the other players complete passes (half field)
-LAYER 4: Same thing as layer 3, but both teams are sharing the whole badminton court
-LAYER 5: The two teams are now playing the game against each other trying to complete those 5 consecutives passes
MODIFICATIONS:
-Add balls
-Change the movement pattern (bounce passes only)
SAFETY:
-Students should keep their eyes up and avoid collision
-End lines away from the wall
