FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUES:

-LOCOMOTOR

-NON-LOCOMOTOR

-MANIPULATION

PROGRESSIONS OF LEARNING:

-COMPETENCY 1: Moving about an area with and without obstacles/ rotations on the spot and on apparatus/ object manipulation/ projecting objects with an implement

-COMPETENCY 2: Cooperates with partner(s) while performing movements or actions in the right place at the right time/ cooperation-opposition movements or actions in group activities in a common space

TACTICS:

-OFFENSE: Hit or send the object where your opponent can’t reach it

-DEFENSE: Cover as much space as possible in the playing field and as efficiently as possible

FORMATION: Divide the class in several groups of 6 students and each group will take place on one playing field. A couple of beanbags (6-10) will be needed for each field as well as 3 baskets for the defensive team. The beanbags will be replace by balls and implement for the batter later in the game. Cones are use to mark the playing area and the boundaries of the game, in which the beanbags and the ball must stay.

DESCRIPTION OF PLAY:

-The goal of this game is to throw the beanbags somewhere in the playing area where the defensive team won’t be able to catch it with their baskets

-Every player is batting 2 times before offensive and defensive team swap roles

-The beanbags must be thrown with an underhand throw and reach at least 1 m height

-When playing the game with ball and implement, the same rules apply

-A point is given to the offensive team if the ball falls on the floor and one point is award to the defensive team if they catch the ball

-LAYER 1: Basic movement pattern and move safely in the space. Learn to catch beanbags with the basket and to throw correctly as an attacker

-LAYER 2: Play the game with basic rules

-LAYER 3: Change side

-LAYER 4: Switch to the ball and implement if students are comfortable enough

MODIFICATIONS:

-Shape the dimension of the field

-Use different balls (bigger or smaller) and different baskets

SAFETY:

-Students should be aware of their environment and of the trajectory of the ball

-Wait everyone to be ready before batting or throwing another ball
